SettleAU ("we", "us", "our") operates the website www.settleau.com.au. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use our website, tools, account features, and contact forms.
Information you enter into our tools: Our calculators run in your web browser. Optional features such as saving results and sharing links can transmit information from your calculation outside your browser, as explained in sections 1b and 5.
Automatically collected information: Like most websites, we collect certain information automatically when you visit, including:
We use Google Analytics to measure website activity and improve our tools. Our hosting, analytics, and other service providers also receive technical information, such as your IP address, when your browser connects to their services. Their privacy policies describe how they handle this information.
1b. Account and saved data: If you create a SettleAU account (via Google, GitHub, or email sign-in), we collect and store:
Account data and saved results are sent to and stored by Supabase, our account and database service provider. A saved summary may include personal or financial information shown in your results. We use account information to sign you in and associate saved results with your account.
If you select Save results while signed in, the result summary is sent to Supabase. If you follow Create free account from a results prompt, a pending summary is stored in your browser's local storage and may be automatically saved to Supabase after you sign in and return to a calculator. You do not need to press Save results again for that pending save.
1c. OAuth sign-in: When you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive basic profile information (name, email, profile picture) from those services. We do not receive your passwords. These sign-in providers have their own privacy policies: Google, GitHub.
1d. Contact and feedback: Our contact and feedback forms send the details you submit, including your name and email if supplied, your message, and the selected topic or page, to FormSubmit. FormSubmit processes the submission and forwards it to our email inbox so we can respond to enquiries and feedback. Please avoid including sensitive information that is not needed for your enquiry.
1e. Comments: If you submit a comment or reply, the name you provide, message, and associated page are sent to Supabase. Approved comments and replies, including the displayed name, can be read by other visitors. Do not post information you do not want to make public.

We also use the information you provide to operate account and saved-result features, handle enquiries and feedback, and moderate comments. The service providers listed below process information to deliver these features, analytics, hosting, and advertising.
Our website and service providers use cookies or browser storage for analytics, advertising, sign-in sessions, language preferences, the cookie notice, pending result saves, and comment interactions.
Third-party advertising providers, including Google, may use cookies to select ads using your previous visits to SettleAU or other websites. Google's advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalise ads using activity across this and other sites.
You can opt out of Google's personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings. For choices offered by other participating advertising providers, visit YourAdChoices. These choices do not necessarily remove advertisements.
You can manage cookies and clear site storage in your browser settings. Clearing site storage may sign you out and remove preferences or pending saves; it does not delete results already stored with your account. For Google Analytics, you can use Google's opt-out browser add-on where supported.

We may include affiliate links to third-party products and services. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. We only link to products and services we believe are genuinely useful.
Calculator and pending-save data: Calculations run in your browser, but saved summaries are transmitted to Supabase as described in section 1b. Pending summaries in local storage can remain after you close a page. Closing a page or signing out does not delete results already saved to your account.
Share/save URLs: Some tools encode inputs into a link's query string. Anyone with that link can see those inputs. Opening the link sends its URL to our hosting service, and the URL may also appear in browser history, analytics, or services used to share the link. Avoid sharing a link containing information you want to keep private.
Account data, saved results, and comments: These are stored with Supabase and are separate from your browser storage. Contact us using section 10 to request access, correction, or deletion. Clearing browser data alone does not remove these records.
Contact and feedback: Submitted messages are processed by FormSubmit and delivered to our email inbox. Closing the form does not withdraw a message already submitted.
Service-provider data: Hosting, analytics, advertising, and other providers handle data under their own policies and applicable service settings. See the links in section 4 for more information.
Our website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
You can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account, saved results, comments, or enquiries. Please identify the relevant account or submission without sending passwords or identity documents.
Privacy rights and any limits on a request depend on the laws that apply. For information about Australian privacy rights, see the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Advertising and analytics choices are described in section 3.
Our website contains links to external websites (e.g., Services Australia, Department of Home Affairs, health providers). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
